Summary:
The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois (13,463 – 2020 census) is a diverse home-rule municipality directly north of the City of Chicago consisting of 2.7 square miles, with a unique blend of residential, commercial, and manufacturing areas. The Village is seeking an individual to serve in a unique role that is evenly split between the Fire Department and Community Development Department. The position is responsible for the receipt of applications for zoning and building approval for Community Development and administrative support for the Fire Department. The Account Clerk provides a high level of customer service and helps streamline the process of resolving customer issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Account Clerk provides primary support for the Community Development and Fire Department front counter operations. The Account Clerk answers phone calls, responds to customer email requests, accepts plans and applications to assist with coordinating the review process, tracks progress of the building permit review process, and issues permits upon approval. The position also prepares and maintains accurate financial records of fees and deposits received, including the tracking of payments, reimbursable costs and project charge-backs and preparing check requests. Position will also schedule Fire Department station tours, child seat installations, coordinate the “Sharps” program and assist with budget and annual reports as needed.
Required Skills/Education/Experience:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by training in typing, one to two years of clerical or data entry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Knowledge of development and building processes is preferred.
Hours and Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $52,800 – $71,280. This position is classified as a full-time, non-exempt, non-union position. All applicants must be able to work 9:00am to 5:00pm., Monday through Friday.
