Position Summary:
The Behavioral Health Data Analyst reports to the Program Manager and prepares analysis and reporting to support the goals and objectives of the Behavioral Health program as well as the Agency as a whole. The Behavioral Health Data Analyst will serve as Project Evaluator in conjunction with specific Grants and Programs funded by state and Federal government Agencies. The Behavioral Health Data Analyst will also serve as a liaison between the Finance and IT functions, determining how best to acquire and use information from the Agency’s Electronic Health Records (E.H.R.) and accounting software in support of its overall mission.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Coordinate data collection related to assigned program, including but not limited to SAMHSA grants such as: CCBHC Expansion Grant, MAT PDOA, etc.
  • Prepare operational and quality reporting required by the various grants and programs allocated to the Agency
  • 8. Develops and implements data strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality.
  • 9. Interprets data, analyzes results, and provides ongoing reports that identify health trends in patient care outcomes.
  • 10. Develops and maintains a full suite of reporting capabilities that help manage, track, and control the overall quality of care for defined populations.
  • Provide support for preparing grant requests, contract compliance reports, or other related activities associated with new programs/fund development projects.
  • Oversee the completion of Patient and Family Satisfaction surveys in compliance with current Agency standards; compile and present results to Leadership to ensure continued quality improvement within the Agency
  • Derive reporting to measure client outcomes and foster clinical quality improvement in all facets of the Agency’s practice
  • Provide analysis which assesses the efficacy of new Agency programs and initiatives such as Trauma Informed Care and Enhanced Cultural Competency
  • Ensure completion of additional assessments required by various grants and programs
  • Coordinate with IT Team on creation and maintenance of forms and reports within the Agency’s Electronic Health Records system
  • Ensure data reporting is accessible to all internal and external stakeholders as necessary, including patients, employees, and regulatory bodies
  • Facilitate the Data Reporting Committee and participate as a key contributor to the EHR Committee and other committees as assigned to provide relevant feedback on requirements related to reporting objectives of the Agency.
  • Participate in meetings, internally and externally, related to these job responsibilities.
  • Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education Required (Minimum level of education):
AA in health-related field or similar degree required.
BS/BA in health-related field or similar degree preferred.
Certifications/Licenses Required: Valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle required.
Experience Required (Minimum level of experience): 2-5 years data analyst experience in health care setting, required. Sensitivity to multi-cultural concerns and the psychotherapeutic process required.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:

3. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and protocols.

Equipment: Computer literacy required and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: General office environment. Frequent sitting, occasional standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10 lbs. May drive around San Diego County for various meetings and trainings.
