Our full-time, non-exempt (hourly), Certified Medical Assistant helps to support our mission and team so we can work in the most efficient and effective way.
The Certified Medical Assistant is the first point of care in the prescribers' office. The CMA supports day-to-day operations by performing routine medical assistance job functions and ensuring high quality customer service. This position works hand-in-hand with the prescriber to achieve quality outcomes for the patient.
What you'll do
- Organizes patient flow by rooming patients, collecting patient history, and obtaining chief complaint for visit
- Updates patient chart when required and perform timely chart documentation during office visits
- Completing the review of systems
- Manages prescription refills and prior authorizations
- Contacts patients to communicate test result information; and returns patients phone calls with the physician's recommendations for their care
- Provides physician and provider support

- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program
- Three years previous experience in medical office or health care setting preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant designation required (CNA not accepted, must be CMA)
- Have a working knowledge of standard lab and medical procedures such as POCT, lab draws, vitals, perform EKGs, perform wound care, etc.
- Ability to manage behavioral health and primary care needs
- Professional, helpful, positive attitude, multi-tasker, organized, reliable, ability to handle high stress situations/environments; enjoys working with people, dependable
- Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with a Certified Medical Assistant such daily standing, squatting, walking, bending, and maneuvering. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and biohazards. Stress can be triggered by workload and difficult patients
- This position may be required to float to provide coverage at various office locations as needed
