RDTS is seeking a Data Scientist (Statistician) to support the U.S. Army in Huntsville, AL. The Data Scientist will analyze data harvested from HUMS systems to evaluate the data quality, validity, and usefulness of each proposed system. Data Scientist will evaluate the proposed software solutions for statistical model accuracy and present findings to the team. This individual will be involved in various team meetings and discussions in support of a sound system selection decision. They will also support the deployment and evaluations of new technical solution products, and/or standards in support of functions strategy and operations, under limited supervision.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Work closely with leads, developers to evaluate proposed systems and software.
• Evaluate logical and physical models, design, and source to target mapping and performs comparisons of proposed system.
• Responsible for promoting understanding across the team of data quality concepts and methods.
• Advise on alternatives and the implications of new or revised data processing systems.
• Work with team leads, integrators, and vendors to communicate business and technical requirements clearly and effectively.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of aviation.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
• Valid driver's license.
• Skilled in the integration of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products and legacy Dept of Defense systems as part of an integrated information system to include the organization and execution of large scale test and evaluation events.
• Be well organized.
• Be an effective communicator at multiple levels with the ability to grasp system concepts and communicate their applications.
• Be able to speak effectively before groups of internal and/or external customer or employees.
