Job description

Muller Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for its stormwater staff at a design engineer level, for stormwater improvement projects with a focus on serving state and local agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design of stormwater improvements such as urban stream restoration/stabilization measures, culverts and storm drains, detention facilities, water quality features, and erosion and sediment control planning.
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, geomorphic evaluations, floodplain studies, scour analyses, and assistance with environmental permitting.
  • Preparation of construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, development of construction quantities, specifications, technical report writing, construction engineering support, and guiding the work of technicians.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or a closely related field) from an accredited college or university; advanced degree a plus.
  • 0-3 years of experience with focus on design of stormwater improvements.
  • Exposure to hydrologic and hydraulic computer programs (HEC-RAS, SRH2D/SMS, Flo-2D, HEC-HMS, CUHP, SWMM, culvert/open channel design tools) and utilization of MHFD criteria desired.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred and experience with MicroStation/ORD a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team oriented with strong collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.

Required License or Certification:

  • Colorado Engineer Intern (EI) preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
