Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital. SUMMARY
Provides leadership in the development and execution of a comprehensive the HHS Non-Provider Wellness Strategy targeted for Hennepin Healthcare workforce. Key components of the strategy to include the roll-out of department wellness champions to address root cause burnout issues with the aim to improve overall employee health including nutrition, physical activity, and stress management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of HHS non-provider Wellness Strategy (to synchronize with Provider Wellness Group) and programs to address employee needs under the direction of the Total Rewards Leader and the WISH (Wellness Initiatives and Support at Hennepin) steering committee
  • Develop Wellness Champions program to address department needs and determine root cause wellness issues. Assist Wellness champions in targeted programming as necessary.
  • Monitor and provide utilization and wellness data for programs, where appropriate, to various constituents
  • Assist in overseeing vendor implementations of new programs including externally and internally
  • Direct establishment, outfitting and oversight of the Wellness/Fitness center
  • In coordination with the Organization Development group and Benefits group update and refresh the HHS Wellness website to ensure resources are aligned with the Wellness Strategy
  • Perform local benchmarking with best practice companies and trends in the wellness space
  • Partner with the Benefits manager and healthcare vendor to conduct a analysis of employees’ health risks and conditions, as allowed by HIPAA, to define areas of focus
  • Formulate recommendations and associated financials, socialize them with various stakeholders to gain consensus, then implement
  • Define and track measures of success
  • Monitors and tracks various metrics that show the effectiveness of wellness initiatives as well as Wellness/Fitness Center services and is responsible for meeting key health and wellness objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education / Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or Public Health
  • Three or more years preferred of direct management of wellness programs including program audit and analysis of results

OR

  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Background in researching employee wellness plans to identify emerging trends
  • Demonstrated abilities to recommend and implement changes to Wellness programs that if implemented here would ensure alignment with HHS strategy
  • Experience with design, recommending, implementing, and administering wellness program components
  • Strong communication abilities, as the candidate will need to promote Wellness programs to HHS Leadership and employees
  • Good interpersonal skills that would set stage for developing a network of wellness champions across the organization to build and promote Wellness at HHS
