Description: The Prairie Ridge Care Center (PRCC) Host/Hostess is largely responsible for setting the welcoming, home like atmosphere in the cottage to which she/he is assigned. She/he sets tables, greets residents coming to the dining room, serves the meals, clears tables, runs the dish machine in the cottage, attends to assigned cleaning tasks, does scheduled activities with residents, serves snack times for residents, staff and visitors, and in general watches over and spends time with residents making the cottage a home.

Number of Hours: Full-time: 30-37 hours/week

Part-time: 16-24 hours/week

Casual: Casual: 0-15 hours/week

Schedule: Full-time: 6:30 am – 2:15 pm 5 shifts one week; 4 shifts the following including every other weekend and holiday.

Part-time: 2:15p – 10:00p. 2-3 shifts/week; every other weekend and holiday. Fill in for co-workers as appropriate.

Casual: 6:30 am – 2:15 pm or 2:15 pm – 10:00 pm. No regular schedule but fill in for co-workers as appropriate

Educational Requirements: High school diploma desired. He/she must take a modified diet and sanitation course provided through the dietary department and a feeding class provided by our nursing department.

Other: The applicant must be cheerful and have excellent interpersonal skills. He/she must have a genuine heart and patience for the elderly, be willing to fill in as needed, and be a team player. He/she must be well organized and able to follow directions but also work independently.

Pay: $17.33 - $21.66 per hour
