THE PENNY ICE CREAMERY | Made From Scratch

The Penny Ice Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch in house using local and organic ingredients. We work with local farmers, foragers and food artisans to create unique flavors like Raspberry Rose, Candied Buddha Hand, and Strawberry Pink Peppercorn! We also make crowd-pleasing flavors like Salted Butter Toffee and Fresh Mint Chip, and of course our famous classics: Tahitian Vanilla Bean and Dark Chocolate Sorbet.

As an Ice Cream Scooper, you will be creating a fun and memorable experience for our guests by scooping ice cream, making ice cream sundaes and milkshakes and various novelty items, making coffee and tea drinks, rolling sugar cones, and of course toasting that marshmallow fluff.

We currently operate four Penny Ice Creamery locations:

-Downtown Santa Cruz (913 Cedar Street, Santa Cruz, CA)
-Pleasure Point (820 41st Avenue, Capitola, CA)
-Aptos Village (141 Aptos Village Way, Suite 2, Aptos, CA)
-Scotts Valley (262 Mt. Hermon Road, Suite 104, Scotts Valley, CA)

Requirements:
-Must have availability during the week, weekends and holidays on a reliable basis.
-Must be available to work 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
-Preference will be given to individuals with experience in food service, although we will train the right person.
-Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
-Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
-Up To Date COVID-19 Vaccination & Booster (see below)

The Glass Jar, Inc. currently requires all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and requires boosters for those who are eligible and overdue. Federal law allows for medical and/or religious exemptions under a limited set of circumstances.
