Job description
We have openings for a Certified Professional Dog Trainer or someone on their path to become a Certified Trainer (CPDT-KA) to join our team. Availability could range from 5 hours to 20 hours a week with the potential to grow from there. We offer various services ranging from training school (one on one with a dog working basic skills while the dog is attending dog daycare), private lessons (individualized with a client), and group classes.
All team members are employees. Fur-Get Me Not handles marketing, payroll, student registration and class management, training supplies, and billing. We also support each team member's professional development with a reimbursement program and offer various company benefits. This structure allows you to focus on working with clients and dogs, and a team of trainers that share the same passion.
The private lessons are offered at the customer's home, our facility, or online using Google Meet. These are scheduled based on the trainer's and customer's availability.
Group classes include behavior (reactive, fear, impulse) or Good Manners. Group classes are offered on weekends and weekday evenings at our Dog Training School.
Training school is offered during the day on weekdays.
There is also an opportunity for the trainer to work with employees on dog behavior and canine education.
Applicants should have experience in conducting private training sessions specifically related to general obedience and good manners. In addition, some experience in behavior specific coaching is preferable. Applicant should also be well-versed in clicker training, use positive methods, have a professional and positive attitude, interested in expanding their knowledge in the animal behavior field, and enjoy coaching people.
Preference is for candidates with 5 years or more of experience and is well versed in positive reinforcement dog training. Applicant must have experience teaching group classes, conducting private sessions, and is enthusiastic about working with a team of like-minded trainers. Candidate should have or be working towards one of the following certifications CPDT-KA, CPDT-KSA, CBCC-KA, CDBC, KPA CTP, ACP-CDT, ACP-CDTA.
Fur-Get Me Not is a family owned and operated pet care business that opened in 2000 and provides a full suite of pet services including dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare, and boarding. We have offered dog training services since 2006. Our group classes and private offerings focus on getting adopted rescues off to a good start and developing well-mannered family dogs. We also emphasize personalized training and offer a variety of behavior related group classes. We are committed to teaching people how to train their dogs using positive training methods, with a focus on learning theory and animal behavior.
