Position Summary

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking an Open Rank full-time, fixed-term faculty member to provide clinical leadership for the Crisis and Assessment Outpatient Program at the WakeBrook Campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. The major expectations for this position will be the provision of leadership for the program’s clinical services, leadership and supervision for the program’s staff, and provide evidence based direct behavioral health assessment/care to residents of Wake County with a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse conditions. Treatment services include clinical crisis assessment, providing short-term crisis counseling and intervention services, and referral of consumers of all ages who present with emergent mental health, substance abuse or developmental disability needs to emergency resources and making clinical dispositions in conjunction with crisis services clinicians, coordinating hospitalizations and urgent outpatient referrals as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Applicants must have an MD/DO and be BC/BE and be eligible for North Carolina licensure. The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience working with a multi-disciplinary team, including trainees from a variety of disciplines. Candidates should have clinical experience working with the severe and persistently mentally ill, and substance using patients.
