NOTICE OF OPENING: Special Education Teacher
LOCATION: Middle School or High School
WORK YEAR: 2022-2023 School Year
SALARY: Per FEA Contract

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required
• Special Education Endorsement in SM, SE, SA or SV preferred
• Eligible for or have Michigan Teacher Consultant approval required
• Master’s Degree in related field required
• 3 years teaching experience; 3 years in Special Education required
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Highly Effective Evaluation preferred
• Experience in a Leadership Role preferred
• Evidence of Exceptional Organization Skills required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for a caseload of students in 2 schools
• Monitoring and supporting students on a regular basis
• Assessing individual needs of students
• Developing a plan of support for student
• Training, modeling, and mentoring teachers on support plans
• Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction
• Responsible for coaching and supporting teachers in general and special education classes to improve skills in differentiation of curriculum and using appropriate supports for students to be successful.
• Interpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instruction.
• Participate in professional development and implement best practice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year
