Academy of Art University is seeking to hire a full-time Strength & Conditioning Assistant to support the Urban Knights' Athletics department. The Strength & Conditioning Assistant will work from the University's fitness center located at 620 Sutter Street in downtown San Francisco for 40 hours per week 37.5 weeks per year. Primary responsibilities include:
Supervise the year-round strength program for men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports
Supervise and teach progression, resistance, cardiovascular, speed, explosive / plyometric, flexibility and body control
Support with secondary injury rehabilitation
Maintain record keeping and monitor physical progress
Schedule teams according to strength development plans
Provide guidance regarding best strength development practices
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science, Physiology or Kinesiology
Have a valid Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification (CSCS or CSCCa)
Possess First Aid, CPR and AED certification
Must have a valid California driver's license and be insurable under the Academy's auto policy.
Possess exceptional communication skills and effectively engage with others in person and by phone
Be able to effectively communicate policies and safety procedures and ensure best practices are followed
Must be able to consistently lift up to 75 pounds
Must ensure that all activities are operated in compliance with NCAA, Pacific West Conference and University rules and regulations
Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work evenings and weekends as needed for the University
