About Us:
The Immune Tolerance Network (ITN) is a collaborative network for clinical research, funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health. The ITN facilitates collaborative studies between academic, governmental and industry researchers in order to develop and fund cutting edge immune tolerance research that could not otherwise be conducted.
Overview:
The Data Collaboration Team (DCT) is charged with ensuring the accessibility and validity of research and operational data collected by the ITN’s clinical trials. We are a small and dynamic team that enjoys a great deal of flexibility in how we approach developing solutions, and we thrive when applying our skills and creativity to improving people’s lives.

In this role, you will be building and customizing on the applications and sites that allow our colleagues and collaborators to conduct clinical trials, explore the resulting data, and make our findings available to the public. Together, we support the ITN’s mission through meaningful and necessary work.
Responsibilities:
This position will:
  • Use various front-end languages (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript), along with related libraries and frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, AngularJS, jQuery, Bootstrap) to create webpage layouts, edit website content, and build online applications.
  • Test sites and applications for efficiency and usability, considering multi-browser compatibility and responsive design while addressing any bugs or errors identified.
  • Be responsible for troubleshooting and customizing existing enterprise software and content management systems (CMS), which requires a willingness to explore unfamiliar technology and implementations.
  • Work across a mix of cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure and within a standard DevOps pipeline, including version control, continuous integration & development, and automated testing & deployment.
  • Be comfortable communicating with a range of technical and non-technical users and vendors as this position works in collaboration with back-end developers and IT as well as communication, operations, and scientific teams.
  • Be encouraged to advocate for new technologies and platforms to improve content delivery and support operations within and without the organization.
  • Have a healthy interest in design and user experience, which would be helpful in this position but not required.
Requirements:
Web Developer I
  • Associates Degree or vocational training and one year of related web development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic competence developing in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Exposure to at least one CSS framework and JavaScript library
  • Experience with Git or similar version control platform
  • Familiarity with a Content Management System (e.g. Drupal, SharePoint, Confluence, etc.)
  • Design/UX skills encouraged

Web Developer II
  • Associates Degree or vocational training and three years of related web development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience developing in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with at least one CSS framework and JavaScript library
  • Familiarity with server-side languages (e.g. Java, PHP, Python)
  • Experience with Git or similar version control platform
  • Basic familiarity with virtualized software platforms (e.g. AWS Amplify and Docker)
  • Experience developing with a Content Management System (e.g. Drupal, SharePoint, Confluence, etc.)
  • Familiarity with design, layout, and UX tools (e.g. Adobe Create Cloud, Figma, Balsamiq etc.)

Web Developer III
  • Associates Degree or vocational training and five years of related web development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Thorough understanding of development and deployment of SQL Server/Express/React/Node (SERN) stacks
  • Experience with server-side languages (e.g. Java, PHP, Python)
  • Experience with Git or similar version control platform
  • Experience deploying web applications to virtualized software platforms (e.g. AWS Amplify and Docker)
  • Experience with administration, configuration, and development using a Content Management System (e.g. Drupal, SharePoint, Confluence)
  • Experience with design, layout, and UX tools (e.g. Adobe Create Cloud, Figma, Balsamiq etc.)
