Perfect Game Incorporated is seeking a Scouting Intern for our Spring season! Perfect Game first opened for business over 20 years ago. Since then, Perfect Game has continued to grow and expand throughout the United States.
Our mission is to promote the game of baseball now and in the future by hosting the highest quality amateur baseball events while providing meaningful opportunities and information to players, families, MLB organizations, college coaches and fans. Perfect Game is the premier provider of amateur baseball events, hosting both travel team tournaments and individual player showcases throughout the country. Our online database, scouting reports and player rankings have proven to be a valuable resource for all college coaches and MLB scouts.
This position will assist the National Scouting Coordinator in evaluating, identifying, and promoting players during the 2023 PG Iowa Spring League. The Spring League enters its 28th year of providing the best opportunity for Iowa's top high-school talent. The Iowa Select Spring League allows the top players in Iowa as well as other top organizations in the Midwest the chance to compete at a high-level for six weeks in March and April. Since the league's inception in 1996, all but one of the players from Iowa drafted in MLB's First-Year Player Draft has played in the Perfect Game Iowa Spring League, with hundreds more committing to play at the collegiate level.
This position will take in-game video of prospects and post them to Twitter as seen fit by the National Scouting Coordinator. You will also produce daily scouting recaps in conjunction with the National Scouting Coordinator. You will play an important role in identifying potential prospects for Perfect Game's national and state rankings, as well as provide exposure for the players who are competing in the Spring League.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Perfect Game in identifying the top prospects in each graduating class at tournaments
- Able to complete the write-ups of prospects seen in a timely manner and to be posted on the website the next day.
- Scouting and analyzing prospects while using other available resources to be able to evaluate prospects.
- Assist in all PG Event operations when necessary.
- Assist with PG Social Media from events.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Comfortability with taking quality video and posting it to social media
- Must be able to navigate social media and other video applications (like Slate, iMovie, etc.) with relative ease
- Experience or confidence in one’s writing ability
- Must be a self-starter, as the job requires a high degree of autonomy. Ability to multi-task is also a must, as the work environment can be fast paced at times.
- It is preferred that the candidates have strong knowledge and passion for the game of baseball as well as a basic understanding of how to evaluate players. This should not discourage potential candidates from applying, however, as we can always develop one's ability to evaluate.
Start Date: March 25th 2023, Intern will be expected to work every Saturday and Sunday for a 6-week span (excluding Easter Sunday) from March 25th to April 30th. If you need more hours than provided please make that clear during the interviews.
Compensation: Two payments of $500 over 6 weeks
