Job Summary:

The Team Lead acts as an extension to management in their assigned warehouse zones. Provides direct support to ensure parts are picked and packaged in a safe and cost effective manner with zero defects.


Qualifications:

  • Basic job standard: Must be able to read and receive instructions in English.
  • Formal Education Standard: High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal direct supervision.
  • Proven to possess excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Has the ability to implement change and support operational improvements.
  • Must demonstrate the Ingersoll Rand Core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Respect, Courage and Innovation.
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills (MS Suite, AS 400, etc.).
  • Must be capable of leading and directing A3, 9-step, Kaizen/ RIE events.
  • Completion of professional leadership training such as Team Lead Development Program (TLDP) strongly preferred (internal candidates).


Key Competencies:

  • Responsible for the overall performance of his/her assigned work group/line, including safety, quality, efficiency and attainment of daily shipping/production schedule.
  • Proactively supports plant wide safety programs, including ongoing maintenance of a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Works to achieve the current goals and objectives of the department including but not limited to on time Shipment (OTS), Damage, Shortage, Incorrect (DSI) Cost Per Line etc.
  • Assigns and manages work schedules and assignments in coordination with the Area Supervisor.
  • Ensures all employees have equipment and supplies needed to perform the jobs in their areas.
  • Assumes responsibility for and takes the lead to maintain housekeeping within the department.
  • Designates and audits 5S responsibilities.
  • Ensures that performance metrics are communicated, understood and met.
  • Drives continuous improvement through MDI.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement; implements improvement plans.
  • Coordinates and leads problem-solving activities for process improvements.
  • Develops, audits and insures adherence to standard work.
  • Serves as the primary communication vehicle between Supervisor, Team Leads and distribution center personnel.
  • Responsible for reviewing staffing needs for the day and flexing labor resources to meet the daily shipping/production schedule.
  • Provides continuous training to associates to ensure standards are complied with and understood.

Monday- Friday 2:00pm- 10:30pm
