Cedar Park Med is seeking to hire an AAC Specialist for an immediate opening.
AAC is used by people who, some or all of the time, cannot rely on their speech. AAC incorporates the individual's full communication abilities and may include any existing speech or vocalizations, gestures, manual signs, and aided communication.
Full-Time / Caseload: 33
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree
- Certificates and Licenses: Valid license recognized by the Virginia Department of Education required or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience: Pediatric or school-based speech therapy experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Provide screening, assessment, consultation and direct therapy services for disorders related to speech and language. The specialist will be responsible for all aspects of the education based speech therapy services to include compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Specialist should be able to provide a wide range of services to groups, individuals, families and provide information for the general public.
Must be able to address:
- Cognitive aspects of communication (e.g., attention, memory, problem-solving, executive functions).
- Speech / Language / Swallowing / Voice / Sensory awareness
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $42.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
