The Academic Program Specialist – Pre-Health Minor supports the pre-health minor program. Reporting program director, the Academic Program Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the pre-health minor. Specific duties include:

  • Responsible for coordinating with faculty and department administrative staff in the hiring and rehiring of part-time lecturers.
  • Assist faculty and program director in the development and distribution of course materials.
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of the program newsletters and publications.
  • Administer the budget for the pre-Health minor, including purchasing, budget tracking, and reconciling.
  • Work with the university Course Evaluations department to ensure accurate and timely evaluations, maintain records, and provide feedback to instructors.
  • Under the direction of the program director, facilitate continuous quality improvement through program evaluation. Monitor key performance indicators (course satisfaction, program completion rates) for program effectiveness.
  • Enrollment and registration functions, including attending recruitment events when needed, tracking applicants and enrollments, providing enrollment to the Registrar.
  • Provide indirect supervision of the Student Services Advisor and Student Worker, delegating appropriate tasks and checking in with the program director as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 2 years. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum experience Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in higher education and/or customer service. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for interacting with both domestic and international stakeholders. Demonstrated attention to detail. Proven ability to plan, implement, and coordinate program logistics. Demonstrated database/data entry experience. Proven project management and problem solving skills, able to handle multiple timelines, changing priorities, and fluctuating workloads.
