Paper Airplane Behavioral Services, PA provides services for children and families in Jacksonville and surrounding areas.

Our growing program is currently seeking a talented, experienced, and reliable tutor for all subjects for elementary age students for the 2021-2022 school year. We believe that using a team approach not only enhances treatment integrity for our clients/students, but also maximizes opportunities for growth and professional development for our providers.

As part of the Paper Airplane team, tutors will work with students individually and in small groups (when appropriate) to provide academic instruction and support. Our team offers compassionate, motivating assistance to students, and we expect our new hires to do the same.

Some flexibility in scheduling (within typical school day hours) is available -- we encourage all to apply and discuss their individual interests and needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assesses the educational needs of each student and develops individualized academic programs
• Reviews all available written academic records
• Completes individual academic evaluations
• Develops educational plans to reflect all major areas of instruction appropriate to the academic level of each student consistent with evaluations, IEPs, and Behavior Treatment Plan (with BCBA collaboration)
• Creates individual and group lesson plans that meet with the individual needs, interests, and abilities of each student
• Works with students individually or small group of up to 4 students (with behavior/academic assistant when appropriate)
• Collects and reports progress monitoring data for all student goals
• Is responsible for IEP preparation and maintenance as well as quarterly reports
• Participates in monthly/bi-weekly team meetings

Job Requirements (In accordance with requirements established by Step Up For Students--Gardiner Scholarship)

Full-Time Tutor

• Must hold a current, valid Florida teaching certificate for the subject or grade level(s)

Part-Time Tutor

• Holds a current, valid Florida educator’s certificate pursuant to s. 1012.56, Florida Statutes; or
• Holds an adjunct teaching certificate given by a Florida school district pursuant to s. 1012.57, Florida Statutes; or
• Has completed a bachelor’s or graduate degree in the subject area with instruction given or has demonstrated a mastery of subject area knowledge pursuant to s. 1012.56(5), Florida Statutes
