Rockwater Associates is a B2B professional services company specializing in the areas of Tax, Accounting, Human Resources, and Technology services. We are currently looking to expand our finance team to support the growing number of clients engaging with Rockwater Associates for accounting services. This role is responsible for analyzing complex financial records and reports of and will partner with the VP of Finance to deliver world class accounting services to small and medium sized business owners. The successful candidate will have an analytical mind and have an excellent ability to troubleshoot and adapt quickly. You exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks and reports
• Support Sr. Accountant in creation of client proposals and estimates
• Participate in presentation of proposals of service offerings and cost estimates to clients
• Assist with management of accounting/bookkeeping processes for clients
• Partner with clients to identify and automate core accounting processes for efficiency and to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent reporting
• Work with client’s existing accounting software or assist with the implantation of a new accounting software platform
• Produce accurate and factual reporting to show client’s overall financial health of the business over the accounting period
• Reporting responsibilities include but are not limited to A/P & A/R, P&L, banking, balance sheets, inventory, resource usage, cash flow, business performance etc.
• Assist Sr. Accountant in financial management accounting and reporting procedures to support client’s strategic business planning and forecasted growth
• Leverage technology for improved customer efficiency and to drive customer experience enhancements
• Remain in frequent contact with clients in your responsibility to understand their ongoing needs
• May support account reconciliations and other bookkeeping services, as needed
• Ad hoc duties

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong financial analysis skills and thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
• Highly analytical and extreme attention to detail required
• High aptitude and excellent independent judgement
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and to work with a team
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization; both internally and externally
• Proficient use of applicable technology and ability to learn new software platforms
• Strong business acumen
