FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE
The Accounting Associate must have strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as a team player while embodying the Patch Values. The candidate must also be able to work within prescribed deadlines. The role will focus primarily on the Accounts Receivable function but will also serve as support for the Accounts Payable function, as well.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction
  • Perform Accounts Receivable Function
  • Manage the receivables inbox daily by responding to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, post, verify, and record client cash receipts to accounts receivable.
  • Research short and overpayments, misapplied funds, payment errors, unapplied cash, etc., and working closely with customers.
  • Generate, monitor, and actively work on customer aging reports to ensure they are up to date and accurate.
  • Develop and maintain key A/R and cash collection metrics.
  • High focus on customer collections of past due accounts.
  • Maintain and update customer records, including name changes, contact info, sales tax exemption status.
  • Demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and tact during all customer interactions.
  • Assist AP Team, as needed, with the following:
  • AP invoice entry
  • Process and validate expense reports for employee expense reimbursements.
  • Process, track, and upload corporate credit card transactions.
  • Assist with audits.
  • Additional accounting tasks or duties, as requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ Years experience with emphasis in Accounts Receivable, Customer Relations, and Accounting
  • NetSuite or other ERP accounting software experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with contracts and collections preferred
  • Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal and external customers), demonstrated professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines is essential
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to interpret data and make cost-effective decisions
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be legally allowed to work in the U.S. without restriction

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sitting for extended periods of time; approximately 5-6 hours per day
  • Simultaneous use of hand, wrist and fingers
  • Daily operation of standard office equipment
  • Frequent use of oral communication to perform work
  • Lifts and moves up to 20 pounds occasionally
