We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Director to report directly to our Chief Financial Officer and be responsible for the preparation of financial statements and operating results for the firm and its business units.
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards, systems of internal controls and tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform accounting tasks in the organization including: recording journal entries, reconciling bank accounts and preparing supporting documentation for monthly reporting to various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on activities for billing, accounts receivable and revenue recognition will be required.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including business unit profitability analysis.
  • Analyze profitability for the firm on a weekly, and monthly basis, providing insights into trends and/or issues.
  • Liaison with the company’s external auditors for interim and year-end audit work.
  • Coordinate with external tax accountants for preparation of annual federal and state tax returns and international reporting requirements.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP for private companies.
  • Experience with international operations and fx reporting.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of work experience, preferably in a professional service or law firm environment.
  • Proficiency with mid-level accounting packages (Aderant or NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel and pivot tables.
  • Strong organizational skills in combination with the ability to multitask on a number of simultaneous tasks.
  • Works well with deadlines and time constraints.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team orientation for planning, time management, and collaboration in a remote environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to achieve results without close supervision.
  • Proactive with a forward-thinking attitude.
