The role you’ll contribute: The Accounting Manager is responsible for the organization, planning, and management of the Accounting Department, including general accounting and accounts payable. The primary responsibility is the preparation of accurate financial statements, in a timely manner. Additionally, this position requires great oral and written communication skills and serves as a liaison between various Advent Health entities and departments. In addition to interacting with medical group and hospital leadership, this position must assist external auditors in the annual financial statement audits and must assist AHS corporate office with various projects. Active participation in outstanding customer service and acceptance of responsibilities in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Manage the month-end close process in preparation of financial statements to ensure integrity, accuracy, complete, and timely financial results for all assigned entities.
  • Responsible for overall leadership, supervision, support, and management of assigned staff. This currently includes accounting, and accounts payable teams.
  • Accomplish accounting objectives by assisting the recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning and allocation resources, coaching, counseling, developing, and disciplining, assigned staff.
  • Responsible for the establishment and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Support internal and external audit activities
  • Leads and supports continuous process improvements within accounting including identifying needed system modifications and process changes by collaborating with functional departments and teams, such as, ERP, facilities, and Corporate Finance teams.
  • Troubleshoots escalating issues, makes decisions, communicates, and escalates as appropriate.
  • Improves core accounting processes on an ongoing basis. This includes streamlining, improving accuracy, and improving customer service of all accounting functions.
  • Completes balance sheet reviews of all assigned entities, constantly looking for issues, and suggests improvements.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department which includes, but not limited to general accounting, lease accounting, fixed assets, annual tax filings, accruals, and prepaids.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors and 5+ years experience
  • 2 years Leadership Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
  • Five years of progressive accounting work experience, including at least three years in the Healthcare Industry
  • Two or more years of experience leading a team that is responsible for ongoing reporting and processing

Preferred qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting
    • Knowledge of working for a medical practice or hospital is preferred
