A Day In the Life as an Accounting & Operations Manager

The primary role of an Accounting & Operations Manager (Exempt, Grade 13) at MidSouth Community FCU is to manage the operations of the Accounting Department.

The Accounting Department is a close-knit team led by the candidate selected for this role and indirectly overseen by the CFO/VP Support Services. This department is housed at our Mercer University Drive branch in Macon GA and is a busy and fast-paced environment, handling inquiries and providing assistance to a variety of individuals each day. As an Accounting & Operations Manager, you would you would manage operations included but not limited to: processing of ACH and share drafts, managing negative accounts, wire processing, IRA maintenance, Bill Pay maintenance, remote deposits, etc.

If you have worked in a financial institution in a back-office support role or if you have been customer/member-facing in a role that requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, this position may be perfect for you!

In an ever-changing world of banking, we are looking for someone who is adaptable to change and willing to see a task through from beginning to end. Additionally, we are looking for a person who is able to effectively balance priorities, while maintaining a level of high professionalism and courtesy to all members.

Experience: Five to ten years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A bachelor's degree or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree)

Interpersonal Skills: Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.

How is the Work Schedule?

The Accounting & Operations Manager position is a full time role, working typically 40 hours weekly.
