Our customer, in the beautiful Superior, WI area, is seeking out a accounting clerk to work 36 hours a week. This person should have a background in accounting, the ability to be flexible in their role and have a team spirit!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check Writing, prepare client advance and expense reimbursement checks
  • Accounts Receivable, apply client prepayments to accounts receivable
  • Payroll, process employee time cards, record journal entries, balance payroll journal, transfer payroll taxes, submit employee 401(k) contributions, distribute pay checks
  • Bank Reconciliation, reconcile bank statements for the payroll and general checking accounts
  • Financial Reports, print monthly reports and other reports as requested, maintain report binders, utilize Excel spreadsheets to prepare billing reports, attorney production reports, cash estimate reports, attorney task code reports and other reports as requested
  • Journal Entries, post monthly journal entries, prepare and post correcting and adjusting entries, post year end closing entries
  • General Ledger, transfer accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers to the general ledger, post general ledger entries, enter annual budget data
  • Rerealizations, calculate and process reallocations of fee write-offs
  • Budget, prepare membership budget and office expense budget, prepare cash budget spreadsheet, enter receipt, billing and expense data in the master budget spreadsheet, prepare monthly budget variance report and related spreadsheets
  • Billing, provide vacation coverage for client billing
  • Office Supplies, order and receive office supplies, organize and maintain supply inventory, work with supply vendors
  • Special Projects, work on special projects as requested

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrates appreciation and regard for the needs and feelings of others. Shows maturity and integrity and retains the respect of lawyers, staff, professional associates and clients.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, flexibility, reliability, efficiency, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • 1-4 years accounting experience and/or education in accounting field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
