Facility Contract Services is a Jacksonville, Florida based contract services company responsible for the employment and management of personnel for municipal clients. Staffing services include administrative, clerical, accounting, payroll, billing, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, human resources, supervisory, utility services, water and wastewater plant operation, property management, general services, public services, building maintenance, operations, landscape maintenance, parks and recreation, community services and senior services. FCS specializes in the privatization of municipal functions with a task-based approach to increase productivity and efficiency.

Please note: This position works within the City of Pembroke Pines Police Department

Under the general supervision of the Finance Coordinator, the employee is responsible for maintaining accounts payable records. Work is performed with professional working knowledge of accounting practices and policies in interpreting procedures, recording, and reporting transactions and preparing financial records. Duties include reviewing all invoices/check requests for appropriate documentation and approvals, inputting invoices for payment in computerized Accounts Payable system, researching payment status of invoices in response to vendor’s inquiry, and reviewing vendor statements to verify payment status of invoices. Work is subject to automatic and periodic verification through systems of internal controls, pre-audits, and post-audits and to supervisory review for conformity with established policies and procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Receives vendor invoices and statements daily by US mail, electronic mail or interoffice mail.

2. Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals.

3. Verifies accuracy of all invoices, and ensures invoices conform to accepted standard.

4. Processes invoices and other payment requests in accordance with established procedures.
