SUMMARY
Family Service League provides services to individuals, children, and families to mobilize their strengths and improve the quality of their lives at home, in the workplace, and in the community. With more than 60 social service programs in over 20 locations, Family Service League is committed to servicing Long Island’s most vulnerable citizens.
Family Service League is seeking a Full Time Accounts Payable Specialist who will act as the back-up to the Purchasing Manager and handle all aspects of accounts payable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Input and process purchase requisitions.
• Process invoices for payment.
• Run checks for approval and signature.
• Reconcile credit card statements.
• Code and reconcile invoices for multiple programs/facilities.
• Ensure credit for all sales tax charges.
• Analyze and reconcile vendor statements against system records.
• Follow up with necessary parties for outstanding items needed for claims.
• File backup documentation, both paper and electronic.
• Scan invoices as backup for claiming.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• At least 2-years' experience of experience with accounts payable, preferably in a non-profit environment requred.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment also required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, as well as prior experience working with electronic requisition and accounts payable systems required.
