Leffler Consulting is seeking an experienced Action Officer to join our team at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly. The Action Officer will be responsible for overseeing the management and execution of all internal/ external taskings, including the management of action tracking systems, communications, and products to be shared with internal Agency and external IC/DoD partners. Additionally, the Action Officer will oversee the development and communication of policies and procedures within the Agency Program Office, Directorate, and IC. An active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly is required.
Duties

  • Analyze, assign, monitor, and follow to closure office responses to taskings from Congress, IC/DoD partners, the Agency, and internal Office actions
  • Coordinate, review, and evaluate responses ensuring quality, accuracy, and proper approvals are achieved
  • Interact with management (at multiple organizational levels) and the technical workforce to draft, consolidate, coordinate, and edit executive-level briefings, point papers, and other materials on complex issues affecting the Program Office and the Agency
  • Maintain the action tracking systems and other relevant databases (SAT, TIER, etc.)
  • Maintain quality control and accountability across appropriate channels for all communications and materials leaving the Program Office to external parties within and outside of the Agency
  • Review, interpret, develop, streamline, and communicate policies and procedures that are applicable to the Program Office, the Agency, and IC/DoD community
  • Participate in the Agency, Directorate, and Office Records Management processes. Manage records generated during the execution of Directorates’ projects
  • Lead, execute, develop, and streamline DAG functions to include recognition programs, training, and security; participate in DAG-related meetings
  • Participate in internal committees, Integrated Process Teams (IPT), working groups and task forces
  • Identify, and communicate opportunities to increase efficiencies across the Program Office
  • Identify and report internal and external issues that may impact the Agency, the Directorate, and the Program Office
  • Coordinate and maintain presentations for audiences up to the Agency level; maintain a quality control process for all presentations
  • Lead, update and deliver various training courses to Agency audiences, including TIER, Action Officer and Agency correspondence courses

Skill Set

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word (advanced formatting and editing), PowerPoint (advanced formatting and editing), and Excel
  • Experience working with senior executives at multiple organizational levels
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline. Years of experience may be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree and determine the position level

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years IC or DoD experience or 10 years experience within another government agency
  • Experience in federal acquisitions, DoD or IC budget finance processes, and/or National Security policies
