Overview
Job Summary: Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with the residents’ assessments and care plans, and as may be directed by supervisor.
Specifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; degree in Music/Arts Therapy or Recreational Therapy preferred.
- Experience:
- Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activity professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after October 1, 1990; or
- Has 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program; or
- Is a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or
- Completion of the Georgia Health Care Association Activity Director 36-Hour Course.
