Brandywine Living, a premier provider of quality senior living, is currently seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant (Escapades Expert) to join our team in beautiful Kennett Square, PA.

** Available Schedule: Weekdays & Every Other Weekend **

The Activities Assistant will assist in conducting a therapeutic activities program that reflects the interest, values and beliefs of the residents and provide life-enriching opportunities for residents and the community in accordance with established policies, and procedures and as directed by supervisor.

Essential Duties:

• Assists Escapades Producer in implementing, planning and scheduling activities and innovative programs.
• Facilitates socialization among the residents.
• Invites/encourages residents to participate in planned activities.
• Conducts/leads activities.
• Trains, supports and instructs other staff members in conducting activities.
• Helps implement decoration of the community for special events, seasons and holidays.
• Chaperones activities outside of the community.
• Assists with transportation for activity outings and regularly scheduled group trips.
• Accepts on-call responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by your supervisor to ensure smooth operation of the program and to meet residents’ needs.
• Assists with transport of residents to and from activities as needed.
• Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.

4. PC/computer keyboard

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• Recreation therapist certification preferred.
• Must complete BHSL direct care staff competency test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Previous experience in activity planning with older adults.
• Must have genuine interest in working with older adults.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
