Position Summary

The School of Professional Studies and University Transfer is seeking Adjunct Instructors for the subject area of education.

As an adjunct professor, you work with students at higher education facilities to provide them with the knowledge and training they need to be successful in the education field.

Duties and Responsibilities

Typical duties of an Education adjunct instructor include but aren't limited to:

• Teach community & technical college students in education courses and engage with students to help them learn.
• Review/refine a class syllabus to include instructor-specific contact information and course policies and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and college standards
• Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments
• Grade assigned papers, quizzes, and exams
• Assess students' progress based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations
• Report student learning outcomes, class reviews, and analyzing student data
• Report attendance, midterm, and final grades based on institutional deadlines
• Collaborate with colleagues on course curriculum
• Advise students on how to be successful in class
• Maintain current knowledge regarding innovations and changes within the education field.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Master’s degree in Education or Master’s degree in a subject matter with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Education and presently has a valid State Teaching License.

Experience

• Teaching experience preferred

• Clear, concise written and verbal communication
• Ability to teach utilizing real-world experience
• Can utilize email and Blackboard (our learning management system)
• Demonstrates passion about their academic field and education in general

Adjunct pay dependent on degree level.
