The position plays a significant role in student Outreach & Recruitment (O&R). Also, it plays a significant role in outreach related to supporting our local community for access to education. This area of the College advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion by examining outreach and recruitment efforts. O&R serves the recruitment efforts from our local high schools, through community-based organizations, and broadly into our community. O&R collaborates and consults with faculty, staff, and other constituents on individual and programmatic needs relating to program promotion and recruitment/enrollment targets. This position provides co-leadership with the Director of Admission, Enrollment & Outreach and manages the Outreach & Recruitment team and operations. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Working with the director and Communications and Marketing, leads the planning, designing, coordination and implementation of district-wide student recruitment initiatives in alignment with Shoreline enrollment goals. Expands the College’s capacity to recruit diverse and under-represented student populations by adjusting recruitment strategies with an equity lens, investigating appropriate forums for engaging communities that represent those populations, and adjusting prospect-to-enrollment services to support in ways that are culturally appropriate.Working with the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) committee and the director, monitors and analyzes enrollment and regional workforce data to identify target populations for recruitment and provides flexible, rapid response to emerging opportunities. Evaluates and reports on trends and developments across priority and emerging markets to inform the College’s recruitment strategy.Oversees the process of turning prospective Shoreline students into admitted students, utilizing the student recruitment Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and associated communication systems to maximize effective outreach to prospective students. Advises the college on student recruitment systems and technologies to improve recruitment and enrollment management efforts.Provides operational oversight of day-to-day functions of O&R. Supervises five full-time employees in O&R as well as student/temporary staff. Ensures alignment of Outreach & Recruitment functions that require partnership with Admissions, Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Workforce Education and other areas of the college.Represents Outreach & Recruitment within the College, in the community, in professional organizations, and with state and federal associations and agencies. Works in coordination with Director of Advising, Running Start, and First-Year Experience to ensure Running Start enrollment is maximized.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution AND two (2) year’s direct experience; OR four (4) years of direct experience.One (1) year of supervisory/management experience in student services or related area.Experience providing direct service to diverse student populations with varying needs. KNOWLEDGE OF: Student information system such as PeopleSoft, or similar Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA). Microsoft Office applications such as Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word programs. SKILL IN: Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness.Training, supervising, and evaluating staff, including the practice of effective leadership.Time management, multitasking, and coordinating work outcomes/activities with multiple partners.Interpreting and appropriately applying laws/regulations/policies accurately and appropriately.Effectively communicating with individuals at all levels inside and/or outside of the College.Handling difficult or sensitive situations using sound independent judgment within legal guidelines.Keeping current with and applying information technology from a variety of resources.Effectively serving diverse student populations such as underrepresented minorities, first generation, low-income, breadth of age range, students with disabilities, and veterans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: The College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). Administrators are assigned to work on campus, noting there may be some opportunities to work remotely based on program or area needs. If authorized for limited remote work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. When working on-campus, this position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus, using the ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means. This position also works work weekends and evenings when appropriate or needed is required. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY: This is a full-time administrative/exempt annually contracted position with initial salary placement determined by the College dependent upon education/experience. Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.
