The OSUCCC-James Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) is a comprehensive bench-to-bedside research initiative focused on harnessing the body’s immune system to fight cancer at all levels from prevention to treatment and survivorship. The Administrative Assistant provides a variety of administrative tasks to support the PIIO’s Associate Directors for Operations & Administration, Immune Monitoring and Discovery Platform (IMDP), and Research Communications. The Administrative Assistant performs the following duties:

  • coordinates appointment calendars; maintains critical due-dates list for reports, membership renewals, annual reviews, etc.; and coordinates appointment calendar of the PIIO Director when the Executive Assistant is absent
  • schedules meetings, conferences, educational programs, and special events (including PIIO seminars); oversees logistics; and records meeting minutes
  • assists with writing and editing documents, including proposals, presentations, reports, CVs, etc.; assists with online and library research; and maintains Endnote bibliographies
  • coordinates travel, lodging, and other associated reservations, and prepares reimbursements and expense reports
  • reviews and responds to phone calls, emails, and paper correspondence; and screens and distributes mail
  • coordinates purchase requests
  • manages special projects as assigned, including assistance with faculty recruitment, Pelotonia fundraising event coordination, and assistance with peloton administration

Education Required

High School diploma or GED; Certification or vocational training may be required. Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree

Qualifications Required

2 years of relevant administrative assistant experience required; 4-6 years’ experience preferred

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. The Target Salary Range is: $20.53 - $27.36 per hour
