Why you want this job: To be a valuable servant within the children's ministry team by giving administrative support. The goal is to give the support necessary to help enable the team to connect children and parents to Jesus and one another, with a one-at-a-time approach. This position has the ability to organize, multi-task, and anticipate needs that are vital to the team.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Office administrative duties such as managing the SE!KIDS inbox, answering phone calls, scheduling meetings, and managing the team calendar
  • Assist in onboarding new volunteers including database management, scheduling training, and other correspondence
  • Submit requests for repairs, maintenance, printing, marketing etc.
  • Implement communication strategies (signage, mailings, vendors, social media etc.)
  • Assist with details of events including booking rooms, catering, contractors, etc.
  • Order supplies and resources for the Children's ministry, including obtaining quotes when necessary
  • Assist the Operations team with budget documentation and management
  • Assist with managing benevolence and coordinating the team for pastoral care for families in the ministry
  • Assist with frequently requested forms such as school references for families and verification of volunteer hours for teen volunteers
  • Take notes and organize information for the team
  • Participate and assist with special events on occasional nights and weekends

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to implement organizational plans and structures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, and coachable to learn new technology and SECC systems
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Ability to multi-task and anticipate needs
  • A heart for equipping, serving, and fulfilling the mission and vision of SECC
  • High School diploma required
  • Experience in Administrative Assistant/Customer Service; preferred
