ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR, Office of Admission, to serve as an admissions officer with a focus on yield and outreach programs. Will assist with the development and management of admissions programs, with a particular focus on post-admission/pre-decision communications and events for admitted students; develop and manage programming for Campus Preview Weekend, MIT’s spring yield program showcasing the Institute for admitted students and their parents; assist admissions staff with other event planning as needed; and review and select undergraduate applicants with a full admissions caseload and actively participate on the admissions committee. Other duties include providing logistic support for planning national and local travel to recruit students and meet with alumni/ae and assisting with other recruitment and yield activities as needed; preparing and processing requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices; verifying credit card charges; supporting travel accounting and travel approval processes; and performing other financial and administrative duties as assigned. Will work under the direction of the associate director of admissions for outreach.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree; excellent public speaking, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment, take initiative, and set priorities; and a driver's license. Salary range: $48,000-65,000

Regular evening and weekend work will be required during the academic year. Several weeks of air travel will also be required annually.

Will be eligible to work a combination of in-office days and remote days each week.
