Position Summary:

We seek a highly motivated and creative individual to join our bioassay development team. This position is responsible for performing and developing bioassays using cytokines and antibodies to evaluate biological activity and to ensure quality products. The position requires maintenance of cell lines and isolation of primary cells for use in the assays. Participate in other projects and troubleshooting as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development of Bio-Techne reagents and consumables.
• Perform the development of robust bioassays for new protein and antibody products using cell-based assays and ELISA methods for evaluation of biological activity and release testing.
• Review literature and conduct experiments that further new product development.
• Develop and perform kinetics experiments for protein and antibody products using SPR method
• Analyze and report data with the consideration of intra and inter-assay variations and other factors which may affect the assay results.
• Maintain cell lines and isolate primary cells from human or animal blood or tissues for use in bioassays and freeze stocks for future use.
• Perform routine and more complex bioassays along with product stability testing following the instructions for quality control on proteins, antibodies, and related products.
• Follow and assist in drafting standard operating procedures.
• Assist in assay troubleshooting as needed.
• Keep accurate records of all experiments performed.
• Perform general laboratory duties and maintain lab equipment.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Or, Master’s degree in a related field and up to 2 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to work in a fast-faced environment where you will be required to prioritize your own work to meet various deadlines
• Must be able to analyze data in order to make effective decisions
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills, especially across different groups and sites
• Must have strong organizational ability and attention to detail with planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills
• Must work well independently in an environment that requires strategic decision making
• Must have skills in problem solving; including the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate a course of action.
• Must demonstrate strong technical knowledge
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
• Flexibility to work alternate or additional hours as needed
