Purpose

  • This position reports to the Program Manager – Mobility and will assist in the management of Avangrid’s Mobility program.
  • This position will work on all responsibilities for international assignments including immigration, relocation, and coordination of tax assistance, as well as immigration cases and processes – immigrant and non-immigrant - for all local employees who need work visa sponsorship.
  • This position will assist in the administration of Avangrid’s relocation program, both domestic and international.

Responsibilities

GLOBAL MOBILITY:

  • Assist with processes for all Expatriates including coordination of new assignments with global teams for both expatriations & repatriations processes.
  • Educate Expatriates with respect to their assignments including Expatriate policies, international assignment agreements, immigration, expat allowances and premiums, international health benefits, tax requirements, relocation and realtor assistance, family integrations and general issue resolutions.
  • Resolve issues affecting Expatriates or their assignment, including assignment extensions and repatriation.
  • Provide periodic reports to Management regarding Expatriates movements, costs and other issues.
  • Act as a resource to other host office mobility coordinators to develop a high level of customer service and a support model for transferees inbound to their office.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations and relationship with external vendors.
  • Maintain an up-to-date forecast of global mobility and immigration needs.
  • Assists with individual transferee packages and assignment documentation; obtains approvals as needed.
  • Track Global Mobility expenses by creating purchase orders, receipting invoices and making sure suppliers are paid in a timely manner while staying within budget
  • Work closely with relocation, international assignment, tax preparation, business travel, and other mobility suppliers.
  • Support counter-parts in the Global Mobility function worldwide in managing assignments.
  • Act as point of contact for the assignee and family to provide advice in the end-to-end management of their individual assignment.
  • Assist with yearly Financial planning and budget development and implementation.
  • Coordinate relocation services.
  • Coordinate mobility services and expenses for global assignments.
  • Maintain ongoing communication practices with global assignees, host and home country management.
  • Proactively monitor the progress of immigration, relocation, international assignments and business travel cases and communicate with the appropriate stakeholder regarding the status of the cases.

IMMIGRATION:

  • Work closely with external counsel on preparation of employment based visas, work permits and green card cases. Handling routine immigrations tasks such as preparing documentation, job postings, advertisements and filing of applications.
  • Manage immigration services, coordinating receipt of applicable documents, and monitoring the immigration process for international assignees and local employees.
  • Maintaining files for immigration, relocation, international assignments and business travel cases.
  • Track visas and permanent residency application statuses and prepare activity reports.

RELOCATION:

  • Work closely with external vendor to ensure a smooth relocation process for any relocating employees. Advise on relocation benefit offerings and monitoring both domestic and international relocation cases. Track relocation status and prepare activity reports.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service oriented position.
  • Associate´s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Proficient in Spanish desired, but not required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including tact and diplomacy are needed for daily interactions with Executives, Directors, Managers and employees.
