Job description

We are looking for one part-time teacher (20-30 hours) to lead our after school K-5 program. Candidates should have a passion for developing character and self-esteem in children. Must have a minimum of 1 year experience with children ages 5+ and be available Monday-Friday 2:30-6:30pm -- option to come in at 12:30pm to cover lunches and make 30 hours. Employees working 30 hours qualify for insurance coverage.

Responsibilities:

Work alongside and assistant teacher to manage and care for a classroom of 30-45 students

Plan and implement character-building curriculum and thematic projects

Maintain control of a classroom through proper planning, child engagement, positive reinforcement, and appropriate discipline

Positive and happy attitude with peers, parents, and students

Excellent communication skills

Passion for teaching children

Requirements:

Works well in a busy, fast-paced environment

Remains calm and collected under stress

Love children and attentive to their needs

18 Years and Older

At least 1 year of experience with children ages 5+ required.

Not a short-term position, as consistency is very important for children

Reliable and Consistent - Must be available 2:30pm-6:30pm Monday-Friday
