Are you a welcoming, heartwarming self-starter who thoroughly enjoys working with children? If so, we have part-time opportunities that might be a fit for you! We are seeking Afterschool Program Assistants to work in Youth Service from 2:15pm - 5:15pm, Mondays through Fridays.
Our ideal candidates will be caring and nurturing individuals who have the ability to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment. These positions is in Nassau County (East Hills), Long Island.
How You’ll Help Us Be Successful:
- Meet the individual needs of the children by interacting through play, exploration and learning
- Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
- Help in designing a room arrangement to support the needs of the children
- Create a positive environment for the children to spend their time in
- Plan and implement activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
- Assist children in completing their school work
- Ensure safety and well-being of all children
- Complete required hours of training per year as required by the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- Experience working with children ages 5 to 12
- Able to manage groups of children
- Qualified by NY State Licensing
- Certified in CPR/First Aid preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, upbeat, and can do attitude

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
We have a mandatory vaccine policy, a dedicated medical advisory committee, newly installed air filters and air purification systems, common surfaces/areas are sanitized regularly, and members and staff are required to follow CDC regulations.
