Agricultural Program Coordinator and Consultant

INTRODUCTION

Pembroke Partners, LLC seeks an Agricultural Program Coordinator and Consultant who will be responsible for supporting a Federal Agency within the United States Department of Agriculture. The consultant will work with a Farm Service Agency Program Specialist in the administration of the finality rule and equitable relief regarding farm programs.

DUTIES

  • Assists a Program Specialist of the Farm Service Agency in the management and administration of programmatic relief requests that are subject to approval from the Deputy Administrator for Farm Programs (DAFP).
  • Maintains a log of incoming electronic requests and categorizes based on the applicable farm program areas for consideration. Responsible for reviewing request submitted by states for completeness.
  • Prepares a detailed summary for review of the supervisory specialist. Will contact state specialists requesting additional information as needed.
  • Responsible for analyzing the requests based on program regulatory guidance and providing a recommendation to the Deputy Administration of Farm Programs for final action of approval or disapproval.
  • Interprets program policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Attends meetings with applicable program specialists and develops and maintains contacts with state FSA program personnel.
  • Prepares correspondence to applicable states of the final actions by DAFP along with additional instructions if applicable.
  • Provides other management, outreach, communication support and agricultural subject matter expertise services for USDA.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have experience and knowledge in the administration of farm programs administered by the Farm Service Agency. Knowledge of the laws and regulations that governing farm programs is preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to provide program interpretation, and instruction for an agriculture program area or operational phases of farm programs. Applicants must be able to maintain confidentiality due the sensitivity of the program matters. Must be well organized and have high level verbal and written skills.

SALARY & PLACE OF PERFORMANCE:

The role can be performed remotely, may require occasional travel to Washington DC.
Salary is Negotiable.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $1.00 per hour
