Your Impact:


The Innovative Aerospace Division (IAD) of Jacobs, an entrepreneurial developer of software-defined radios, radars and airborne ISR AgilePods, seeks an ISR-knowledgeable technical specialist, innovative thinker, and competent technical leader to capture and execute the expansion of Airborne ISR programs and lead a portfolio of Internal Research and Development (IR&D) Programs.

Program Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the strategy, technical decomposition, and performance of small research technical projects or a definable portion of a larger technical program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Manages execution of company IRAD portfolio.
  • Participates as a technical performer in applicable research endeavors as appropriate to the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Prepares status and technical reporting on the company IRAD portfolio against established company strategic air and space metrics and documents how individual IRAD efforts meet and bolster the execution of customer funded programs and/or increases TRL and MRL of company capabilities in support of future business growth .
  • Directs and supervises all support resources for the performance of project assignments and activities.
  • Manages the technical direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.
  • Responsible for helping to acquire follow-on work associated with current company lines of business; determining applicability of company capabilities to solve hard warfighter problems; leading smaller projects that will lay the groundwork for supporting larger opportunities; and leading and/or technically contributing to authoring proposals and white papers.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and acts as the single focal point to the customer for those projects.
  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation.
  • Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including design, engineering, test, integration, production and manufacturing, and fielding.
  • Defines project scope and objectives, helps formulate execution plans for new projects, and assists tracking completion and variance of current projects.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.

Managerial Responsibilities::

  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Responsible for assisting in the technical leadership and analytical guidance and direction to a multidisciplinary staff.
  • Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
  • May participate in the development and execution of budgets, sales and marketing plans and other strategic tools.
  • Participates in driving initiatives for achieving established objectives.
  • May serve as the primary or assistant technical and management interface for the company, customer, and senior staff.
  • May supervise and evaluate professional and technical personnel performing in their regular disciplines.
  • Assists with management services including general administrative oversight, time accounting, financial tracking, cost projection, inventory management, personnel evaluation and support.
  • Responsible for the preparation of and accountability for all contract deliverables.
  • Specify systems requirements and ensure that completed systems meet requirements.
  • Prepares and approves Standard Operating Procedures, Protocols and other technical documentation.
  • Manages subordinate management and/or experienced professionals who exercise significant latitude and independence.
  • Plans, conducts and supervises assignments, generally involving larger and more important projects or multiple projects.
  • Evaluates and determines changes in methods or procedures in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Determines candidates for employment/termination, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff and is responsible for the application of company policies.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Mid-to-Advanced level Microsoft Project experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with microelectronics manufacturing.
  • Experience in large space based payload integration, assembly, and test.
  • Most recent job with 75% or more direct Program Management responsibility.
  • Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, SAFE, Scaled Agile tools for s/w and firmware schedule and execution.
  • Experience using programming languages appropriate for s/w and firmware development of FPGAs and other microelectronics development.
  • Previous Military Acquisition experience (Retired Military Acquisition Officer would be a plus).
  • Must be conversant on how to execute ETC, EAC, and programmatic budgeting projections.
  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 13+ years of experience, Master's with 11+ years of experience, or Doctorate with 8+ years of experience.
  • At least 3years in a senior management capacity.

Preferred:

  • Military, DOD, IC air or space ISR experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with the integration of payloads on airborne and/or space platforms.
  • Experience working with the Air Force and the IC community developing requirements, in the acquisition of major systems, and with technology transition to end users.
  • Experience working with R&D teams and transitioning R&D systems into operations highly desired.
  • Degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or systems engineering from an accredited university strongly preferred.
  • TS/SCI strongly preferred.

Clearance Requirement: Current Top Secret clearance or able to be cleared to that level
Clearance processing will be completed by the U.S. Government. Factors considered for a U.S. Government Security Clearance include but are not limited:
