The Job
The ATS Associate is passionate about the skateboarding culture and crafts exceptional customer experiences through expertly tailored product recommendations. This person will possess a solid understanding of the gear (decks, trucks, wheels and hardware) along with knowing or possessing the desire to give skateboard lessons to all kinds of people at various abilities and ages. This job requires someone who strives to improve their product knowledge and teaching ability while sharing friendly sales experiences within the categories evo represents and building community through teaching skateboarding and mentorship. They will report directly to the ATS Manager and ATS Lead while also working closely with the evo Staff and Leadership team to ensure that we are providing the best experience possible for this one of a kind location.
What you will do
- Work with a motivated team to elevate guest experiences while exceeding expectations in all situations through rapid and efficient problem solving
- Provide 1 on 1 or small group lessons for beginner and intermediate skateboarders either via appointment or on the fly (DOA).
- Participate in unique weekly events geared toward community and inclusivity, as well as open skate nights, Summer Camps and more.
- Consistently improve personal skate product knowledge to provide uniquely unbiased advice during customer gear selection and teaching
- Learn, understand, and evolve with dynamic store IT systems, POS programs and operational procedures
- Help support ATS/evo Leadership team with all daily operations procedures to ensure accurate inventory procedures throughout the year including an annual inventory.
- Actively participate as a representative of evo at events and volunteer opportunities within the Seattle community
- Attend scheduled informational and product clinics
What you will need
- Ability to effectively multitask in a high energy, fast-paced omni-channel retail/skatepark environment
- Be a self-starter who takes initiative and remains productive during down-time
- Enjoy working with groups with a variety of different people where the setting changes daily.
- Honest communicator who welcomes the exchange of direct feedback
- Ability to work full day shifts, weekdays, and weekends, with the occasional holiday
- Passion to share your latest skateboarding adventure with the Seattle community
- Experience selling skateboards, giving skate lessons, and creating a fun, safe atmosphere for all
