Ammunition Handler

Position located at US Army Joint Mobilization Site Fort Bliss, Texas

These positions are contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

• Perform ammunition handler services to include repackage for reissue or turn-in for the Mobilization and Deployment, DPTMS, Fort Bliss, Texas at McGregor Base Camp, Oro Grande Base Camp, Dona Ana Base Camp and the Fort Bliss Rod & Gun Club.
• Complete the Army Traffic Safety Program, Accident Avoidance online course. Complete the following courses within120 days of beginning employment. Courses will be provided by the Government and will be scheduled with the contractor to assure availability within the 120-day timeframe.
  • Introduction to Ammunition (AMMO 45)
  • Class V Issue, Turn-in & Residue (AMMO 64)
  • HAZMAT Transportation Safety (AMMO 67)
  
  

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• Proficient in English and report writing skills
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
• Knowledgeable in operation of standard office equipment
• Knowledgeable in clerical and administrative procedures and systems, such a filing and record keeping
• Knowledgeable in principles and practices of basic office management
• Have excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize several job duties
• Must be highly organized
• Present a professional appearance
• Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License w/hazmat endorsement and a Medical
• Examiners certificate.
• Have a working knowledge of U.S. Armed Forces rank structure and military unit relationships (e.g., Company, Battalion, Brigade, Division, etc.), as appropriate for task area performance.
• Be able to work under stressful conditions and be physically able to demonstrate the training/support tasks to standard.
• Moderately heavy physical effort is required for more than 40 percent but not exceeding70 percent of the work cycle, such as effort required in lifting of objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Follow the Ammunition Section SOP and Policies and Procedures for Ammunition Section and to propose updates as situations change.
• Have a working knowledge of mobilization/demobilization operations in accordance with (IAW) FORSCOM Regulation 500-3-1 thru 500-3-5, and Army Mobilization and Deployment Reference (AMDR) as appropriate for task area performance. Knowledge of Joint regulations is desired, but not a requirement.
• Be able to attain a SECRET Security Clearance
