ANALYST, REIMBURSEMENT SENIOR (ACCOUNTING)
Job description
- Analyzes financial and statistical data used for purposes of reimbursement, budget and financial reporting to determine consistency and accuracy.
- Assists in establishing and implementing procedures used for accumulating statistical data including contacting departments concerning the types of data required and the timeliness of data submitting, and by tracking and reporting data.
- Complies and prepares data used for surveys, questionnaires, rate appeals, New York State (NYS) Assessments and HCRA Pool reporting, financial statements, budgets, the NYS Institutional Cost Reports, NYS Ambulatory Health Facility Reports, NYS Capital Budget, Consolidated Fiscal Reports, Medicare Cost Reports and all other regulatory reports.
- Verifies and analyzes rate calculations submitted by third-party payors for completeness and accuracy and follows-up on items requiring adjustment.
- Assists with preparing reports and data required for various regulatory audits such as the NYS ICR audit, NYS DSH audit, NYS HCRA Audit, OMIG Audits, Medicare S-10 Uncompensated Care Audit, Medicare Cost Reports audit all other regulatory audits.
- Maintains data bases pertaining to medical education programs, allied health programs and physician time studies.
- Assists in the preparation of various revenue and expenses analytics on operations as required by senior management.
- Assists third-party auditors as required during annual yearend financial audits by compiling data required by auditors.
- Maintains complete and organized work papers in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process by providing key data elements.
- Perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred.

Minimum two (2) years of hospital reimbursement experience preferred.
- Analytic and technical skills are necessary.
- Expert knowledge of excel and ability to develop formulas, prepare reports and worksheets of some complexity.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Some knowledge of New State ICR and Medicare Cost Report regulations expected.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills..
Position requires prolonged periods of sitting and use of a computer and screen viewing throughout the working day.
