Position Summary

The Sr. Analyst, IT – Application Administration is responsible for planning and implementing technical projects. The position guides and documents application releases via requirements gathering, risk and impact analysis, system configuration, validation, and implementation stages. The role monitors and maintains business-critical IT systems that promote clinical research and contain highly sensitive clinical patient data. The Sr. Analyst, IT – Application Administration serves as the subject matter expert for the supported applications.

Primary Job Responsibilities Analyzes, deploys, configures, tests, deploys, and maintains software systems and applications Ensures systems and related infrastructure are maintained and released in a manner that comports with regulatory compliance & security policies Monitors upcoming application and module releases for risk, impact and system stability, and recommends optimal implementation roadmap based on this analysis Oversees release process to ensure proper controls around data integrity and patient safety are maintained Ensures application releases and activities are documented per DCRI SDLC policies Works with vendors and application development teams to tune applications Troubleshoot concerns and respond to inquiries from application users Collects and analyzes data on system usage and related user concerns Promotes application awareness and familiarity via authoring guidance documents and providing system overviews & demonstrations Optimize existing workflows and helps develop and implement new workflows utilized within the systems and applications Oversees user administration and ensures robust user authentication controls are utilized on supported applications May help to define functional and non-functional requirements of software systems Participates in the development of long range planning for new projects Integrates the functionality of applications and systems used within DCRI to maximize technical environment Demonstrates a willingness to accept new or additional responsibility Identifies and recommends solutions for system inefficiencies Participates in system architecture design Acts as a mentor to less experienced staff Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve communications at all levels and in all directions

Education and Experience BA or BS in computer science, mathematics or a computer-related field and seven or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills, Training and Certifications Strong understanding of SDLC processes Ability to translate business process language into requirements and system design Understanding of Operating System configuration and functionality (Linux, Windows, etc.) Understanding of relational database concepts and products Understanding of web architecture, application development, and security procedures Experience in version management and change control discipline Effectively communicates, both orally and in writing, and has ability to facilitate cross-functional communication, including ability to identify and resolve conflict Ability to provide reliable time estimates and to handle multiple projects at one time
