Role Description:
The Applications Engineer (AE) is a technical position which interfaces with AV system design from the beginning to the end of the process. This role requires a diverse technical background as well as a drive to stay current on upcoming technologies. The AE role requires an understanding of Audio Visual physics and the components used to solve these physical challenges. Experience in computers, programming and networking are favorable traits for this position.
The AE must work closely with Engineering to ensure project design goals are feasible with the physical design components. An Applications Engineer is expected to problem solve at a high level by interfacing with any resources necessary. The AE role requires methodical testing and commissioning of AV systems both during pre-deployment and onsite. This role requires the ability to intake large amounts of information and disseminate valuable factors. An AE is expected to maintain organized documentation through all stages of the system configuration and commissioning.
A key component to the AE role is to maintain current AV system standards, identify new systematic problems, and finally communicate adaptive practices to the team. The AE Team is comprised of individuals of diverse backgrounds. Each member of the AE Team tends to fall into a niche category of networking, programing, and or advanced troubleshooting. Maintaining a multifaceted AE Team allows them to attack complex problems from a variety of angles in order to identify a solution.
It is mandatory that an AE is able to communicate technical challenges in simple terms for non technical users. Daily updates to the Team and or the customer is an essential part of communication necessary to keep everyone informed of developments. Upon system completion an AE is required to train other Team members or customers on system functionality.
Success for this role = Maintain an advanced understanding of current AV technologies, efficiently troubleshoot/ problem solve, and work well in a Team setting through communication.
Role Expectations:
- Detailed development, configuration, and commissioning of systems.
- Identify project obstacles early and communicate design challenges.
- Assist in remote troubleshooting to other Team members.
- Continual education of new technologies.
- Provide necessary training for Team and/ or customers.
- Professional representation of Root (attire/ communication)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,784.12 - $73,537.70 per year
