RVCC is Hiring an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner!

As one of the largest providers of mental health therapy in our region, River Valley Counseling Center offers a full-spectrum of care. Along with mental health therapy and other treatment modalities, we offer care through our psychiatric APRN services.

RVCC is looking for a Psychiatric APRN to join our team! This person would work 30-40 hours per week, with fully-remote work available.

The Qualifications:

• You have a Master of Science in Nursing.

• You have a current DEA Controlled Substance Registration; current Controlled Substance Registration within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and current certification as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Certification.

• You have five or more years’ experience as a clinical nurse specialist.

• You have experience working with chronically mentally ill populations (required).

• You have experience or desire to work with pediatric patients.

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) ability is a plus.

The Description:

• Clinically coordinate client care, including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: crisis intervention, clinic staff education, training, identifying collaborations, age appropriate treatment plan development, conducting reviews, completing documentation, facilitating groups, assess suicidality and substance abuse, facilitate discharge planning, among other responsibilities.

• Act as a client advocate to ensure that clients’/families’/significant other’s needs are incorporated into the care plan.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

• Take a leadership role in supporting clinical staff in interventions with clients in crisis, clients in need of higher level care (e.g. medical detox), or clients who appear not to be benefiting from treatment.

• Review and reorder medical supplies within approved budgetary limits.

• Keep current with public and mental health licensing and regulatory requirements regarding medication clinics.

• Develop and maintain proficiency in using RVCC’s computerized client information systems accurately and effectively, maintain HIPAA compliance and client privacy.

• Work at multiple sites serviced by RVCC, as assigned or directed.

• Utilize tactful, direct, and sensitive interaction skills in promoting positive customer relations and interpersonal relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.

• Communicate effectively with clients with various cultural backgrounds, including appropriate use of interpreter services.
