POSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for members in swim team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Swim Team Coach
o Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
o Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
o Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including
emergency and safety procedures.
o Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
o Organizes and puts away needed class equipment.
o Reports damaged equipment.
o Attend all practices
o Attend local meets at the coach and director’s discretion
o Communicate with members in a timely fashion
o Prepare necessary paperwork for practices/ swim meets
o Responsible for continually growing the Swim Team program via quality
instruction
o Train and mentor assistant coaches and volunteers
o Assist with other duties as necessary
- Dayforce: Expected authorized hours
o Administrative time – will fluctuate with the swim meet schedule. All swim
meet admin time will need pre approved and submitted to Dayforce the day it
is completed
o Swim team coach time will be clocked under code 101127

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, or certified within the first 30 days
2. Minimum of 2 years in the aquatics, lifeguard
3. Experience in a supervisory role
4. Full working knowledge of the facility’s safety and emergency procedures
5. Experience with standard office software
