Lamont Roe Werner Construction Co. is a family owned and operated commercial asphalt paving company located in Baton Rouge, LA. We have approx. 10-15 employees. The majority of our work consists of asphalt parking lot construction and maintenance. We operate within an Approx. 35 mile radius of Baton Rouge, seldom perform weekend work, and never perform night work. Many of our employees have been with our company for 15-20 years. We are a small company, but take pride in having a diverse workforce capable of performing multiple tasks on a single project. We are looking to build on our existing foundation by hiring motivated hard working individuals who want to learn and grow with us.

Job Description:

The function of the asphalt roller operator is to smooth out and compress the asphalt into its final position on the roadway. This job is completed with an asphalt rolling machine. Operates tandem for finishing of bases and asphalt surfaces. May also operate rubber tired roller on bases and asphalt surfaces.

Duties/Responsiblities:

Asphalt rollers are responsible for properly operating an asphalt rolling machine. Rolling machine operators must be able to start and operate machine, including manipulating the levers that guide the machines attachments in an effort to create the smoothest and most level asphalt possible. Operate and maneuver roller as necessary to ascertain compaction of materials laid on roadway or jobsite through roller patterns and mix designs. Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment. Operators must be able to work under extreme temperature conditions.

Qualifications and Experience:

· 1-2 Years of general construction experience required.

· 1 Year of asphalt paving experience a plus, but not required.

· High School Diploma/GED a plus, but not required.

· Drug and alcohol free (Applicants will be drug tested).

· Able to display a professional and courteous attitude at all times.

· Able to work outdoors in the S. Louisiana during summer and winter months.

· Able to stand for long periods of time.

· Able to lift 50 lbs

· Able to walk on rough or uneven surfaces.

· Able to maintain alertness on a construction jobsite w/ heavy equipment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• No nights
