Assistant/Associate Professor Faculty Position in Computer Science

The School of Computing (SoC) at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant/associate level, to join the Computer Science division, starting in Fall 2023. We seek candidates that enhance and complement the SoC’s portfolio of research excellence.

This faculty member will serve as an affiliate of the Media Forensics Hub, part of the Watt Family Innovation Center at Clemson University. Spanning multiple disciplines, the Hub works to build society’s capacity to understand the context, origins, and impact of modern media, particularly when it comes to questions of authenticity and deception. Hub affiliates accomplish this through a range of perspectives and approaches. A good candidate for this position will be interested in bringing a computing perspective to our understanding of deception, inauthenticity, and/or disinformation, very broadly understood. Many areas of research emphasis may be a good fit for this collaborative ecosystem, including but not limited to Natural Language Processing, Network Science, Data Science, Provenance of Digital Artifacts, and Applied AI.

Clemson has continued to grow and increase student enrollment through the global pandemic. The School of Computing has 37 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, 15 full-time non-tenure track faculty, more than 1,000 undergraduate majors, and over 260 graduate students. The School offers twelve degrees at the Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctorate levels in Computer Science, Human-Centered Computing, Digital Production Arts, Biomedical Data Sciences and Informatics, and an interdisciplinary master’s program in Systems Engineering.
