Duties and responsibilities
- Review and prepare Financial Statements for multiple entities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports
- Assist Controller with management tasks including but not limited to structuring accounting department job duties and assignments to individuals
- Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
- Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies
- Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
- Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records
- Build reports used for tracking customer financing agreements
- Fixed Assets – Responsible for maintaining vehicle fleet and other related duties.
- Set up, maintain and dispose of assets according to schedules.
- Reconcile asset accounts to the general ledger and maintain appropriate worksheets and schedules for audit purposes.
- Financial Reporting of leased assets program
- Assist in leading the close reporting process ensuring all financial deadlines are met. Manage the preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Analyze asset and liability accounts for year-end review to include documentation of activity.
- Ensure the accurate and timely balancing of assigned General Ledger accounts to appropriate subsidiary ledgers and prepare correcting entries if necessary.
- Developing information extraction/retrieval techniques and processes using advanced Excel worksheets and reporting techniques to provide management with effective and insightful operating data reports
- Reconciliation of statements
- Additional Job Responsibilities may be required. Flexibility of job responsibilities is expected.
Overseeing the following and review of the following for accuracy:
- Sales Tax Reporting and filings for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual returns for multiple states
- Fuel Tax Reporting
- Payroll processing using UKG – Work Force Ready
- Payroll Tax reporting and filing for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual returns for multiple states and localities
- W-2 preparation
- 401K and Workers Comp Audit preparation
- 1099 preparation and verifying all W-9s on file and vendors updated with Tax ID#s
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- CPA and/or Master’s degree a plus
- Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs
- Advanced Excel experience
- Three years of payroll tax reporting and sales tax experience is required
- Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices
- Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the company
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving

Working conditions
Job is performed in our corporate headquarters. Working hours generally are Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Some overtime and weekend work may also apply on a week-to-week basis, but must have prior approval.
Physical requirements
Position requires sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
